Make a one-page checklist with the examination year, application deadline, eligibility cutoff dates, post or force choices and the selection stages. Save the notification and each later amendment together. An old screenshot often leaves out the year or the paragraph that qualifies a rule.
Check educational eligibility, age and any claimed relaxation against your documents. Read the prescribed certificate format and relevant dates. A qualification or certificate valid for another recruitment may not meet this notice’s wording.
For physical and medical standards, read the tables and category or regional provisions in full. Do not apply a running distance or height standard copied from an unrelated category. Use the GD selection pathway and document and medical checklist as dated explanations, then verify the new cycle’s rules.
Preparation you can start before dates are confirmed
Work on arithmetic, reasoning, general awareness and language comprehension using the current official syllabus as a reference. Keep the cycle label on any practice material. Once the 2027 notice is published, compare it with your reference and change the plan where necessary.
Start with untimed concept checks. Then use short timed sections and review every error. Record whether you lacked the method, misread the wording, calculated incorrectly or guessed without a reason. A score alone does not tell you which problem to fix.
Physical preparation needs a separate, realistic routine based on your present fitness and the applicable standards. No generic promise such as “three runs a week makes the test a formality” is justified. Build progressively and seek qualified advice where your health or fitness requires it.
What to do when dates are announced
Count backwards from your allotted test date. Reserve time for revision, complete simulations and document preparation. Check how the current notice treats negative marking and section timing before choosing a mock. Keep the final days for reviewing familiar material and the official exam-day instructions.
