About Navy Agniveer SSR
The Indian Navy recruits sailors as Agniveers for a four-year engagement, and the SSR entry is for candidates with 10+2 in Maths and Physics. The 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches were filled through INET 2026 (Indian Navy Entrance Test), with applications taken from 14 March to 6 April 2026 from unmarried men and women. INET marks decide the state-wise shortlist for Stage II, which covers a physical fitness test, a written exam and a medical, with training at INS Chilka.

Other conditions
- Agniveer 01/2027 batch: born between 1 December 2004 and 31 May 2009. Agniveer 02/2027 batch: born between 1 May 2005 and 31 October 2009 (both dates included).
- Only unmarried men and women can enrol, and marriage during the engagement leads to dismissal.
- Exam fee: Rs 550 plus 18% GST, paid once at the INET stage. There is no separate fee for Stage II.
- Shortlisting for Stage II is done state-wise, and cut-offs can differ between states.
- Minimum height: 157 cm for men and women.

Mode: Men: 1.6 km in 6 min 30 sec, 20 squats, 15 push-ups, 15 bent-knee sit-ups. Women: 1.6 km in 8 min, 15 squats, 10 push-ups, 10 bent-knee sit-ups.

What they ask
INET for SSR is a one-hour computer test of 100 one-mark questions across English, Science, Mathematics and General Awareness, set at 10+2 level in Hindi and English. You must pass every section as well as the total, and a wrong answer costs a quarter mark. After the INET shortlist, you take the PFT first; only those who pass sit the Stage II written paper, which has the same four sections and 100 questions in an hour.
How to prepare
- Revise Class 11 and 12 Maths and Physics basics, since both INET and the Stage II paper are set at 10+2 standard.
- Do not skip General Awareness or English: the notice requires a pass in every section, not only in the total.
- Practise 100-question mocks in 60 minutes to build the speed the paper needs, and cut blind guesses because of the 0.25 penalty.
- Get your 1.6 km run under 6 min 30 sec (men) or 8 min (women) and practise squats, push-ups and sit-ups together, as the PFT comes before the Stage II written exam.
