About Army Agniveer
The Army enrols soldiers as Agniveers for a four-year engagement under the Agnipath scheme. Each Army Recruiting Office publishes its own notification for the districts it covers; for recruiting year 2027, online registration ran from 13 February to 1 April 2026, with the online Common Entrance Exam planned for 1 to 15 June 2026. Candidates who clear the CEE are called to a recruitment rally for the physical tests and medical. This entry uses the ARO Secunderabad notification; check your own ARO's notice for its district list and regional physical standards.

Other conditions
- Age: 17½ to 22 years, born between 1 July 2005 and 1 July 2009 (both days included). Only unmarried candidates can apply.
- Apply to the Army Recruiting Office that covers your home district; each ARO notification lists the districts it accepts.
- Exam fee: Rs 250 per category, plus bank charges. You can apply for up to two Agniveer categories, with a separate form and CEE for each.
- Physical standards are region-based. In the Southern Plains notice, for example, the minimum height is 166 cm for GD and Tradesmen, 165 cm for Technical and 162 cm for Clerk/SKT, with a 77 cm chest and 5 cm expansion.
- Bonus marks are added for NCC certificates, sports achievements, children of servicemen and, for Technical, ITI or diploma courses, up to the caps given in the notice.
- Women join through a separate Agniveer Women Military Police notification.

Physical Fitness Test (rally)
Mode: 1.6 km run: up to 5 min 30 sec earns 60 marks, falling to 24 marks for 6 min 01 sec to 6 min 15 sec. Pull-ups: 10 earns 40 marks, down to 16 marks for 6. The 9 ft ditch and zig-zag balance are qualify-only. Technical and Clerk/SKT candidates only need to qualify.

What they ask
The CEE is a short objective test: the official syllabus sheets show 50 questions for General Duty, Tradesmen and Technical, split across GK, science, maths and a few reasoning items. GD and Tradesmen papers stick to everyday science, basic arithmetic, algebra, geometry and mensuration, while the Technical paper swaps these for separate Physics, Chemistry and Maths sections that include matrices, calculus and trigonometry. The CEE only gets you to the rally. There, the 1.6 km run and pull-ups carry up to 100 marks for GD and Tradesmen, and bonus marks for NCC or sports are added to the final merit.
How to prepare
- Train for the 1.6 km run early and aim for Group I (5 min 30 sec or less), since the run alone is worth up to 60 marks for GD and Tradesmen.
- Build up to 10 pull-ups and practise the 9 ft ditch and zig-zag balance, which you must pass even though they carry no marks.
- For the CEE, revise Class 10 science and arithmetic topics named in the official syllabus, then add a daily 15-minute GK slot on the Armed Forces, awards and sports.
- Technical candidates should revise Class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Maths, which make up 40 of the 50 questions.
- Keep your NCC, sports and domicile certificates ready in original, as bonus marks are only accepted with originals at the rally.
