For railway Level 1 posts, the CBT score is only one part of the selection route. Candidates also need to meet the applicable physical, document, and medical requirements. Plan for those while you study.
This guide uses CEN 09/2025, the Level 1 notice published in 2026, and was checked on 20 September 2026. An older CEN 08/2024 result belongs to a different recruitment cycle.
The CBT you are preparing for
The notified CBT has 100 questions in 90 minutes, with additional time for eligible scribe users. Its indicative split is 25 General Science, 25 Mathematics, 30 General Intelligence and Reasoning, and 20 General Awareness and Current Affairs. A wrong answer costs one-third mark. The administration reserves the stated right to hold an additional CBT where necessary. Read paragraph 14 of the official CEN 09/2025.
Use the distribution to create a balanced diagnostic. If you only practise your favourite section, your overall confidence will rise faster than your ability to complete the paper.
In the review, separate missing knowledge from calculation or reading errors. “Science weak” is too broad to act on. “I confused the unit and the quantity in four questions” gives you a short, useful revision task.
Understand the PET before you train
The standard PET includes carrying a load over 100 metres within two minutes and a 1,000-metre run. The male standards are 35 kg and a run within 4 minutes 15 seconds; female standards are 20 kg and 5 minutes 40 seconds. Read the notice for exemptions, transgender-candidate provisions, and other conditions. These are requirements in the official PET section, not a training prescription.
Do not begin by testing yourself with the full load if you are unfamiliar with that activity. Establish a safe starting point and seek qualified guidance where needed. Record what you practised and how consistently you can complete it. A single successful attempt does not tell you whether you can repeat the performance under examination conditions.
Give physical preparation its own place in your weekly calendar. It should not depend on whether you finished every chapter that day. Waiting for the shortlist can leave too little time to build reliable performance.
Keep your documents ready alongside your notes
Make a folder containing your application confirmation, educational records, identity document, and any applicable category or exemption evidence. Compare names and dates across them. If something needs correction, identify the issuing authority early instead of discovering the mismatch at verification.
Read the post-wise medical requirements before deciding your preferences. Different duties can carry different standards. Passing a practice running test does not establish medical fitness for a railway post.
Where to check the schedule and result
Use the official unified RRB portal and choose your board and CEN 09/2025. The official website-migration notice says the old regional sites will not receive further recruitment updates. Check the latest schedule notice rather than treating an early tentative date as final.
When a result is listed, confirm whether it is a CBT shortlist, PET-related notice, or panel. Search your full roll number and read the next instructions. Save the complete PDF and any call-letter notice. This article does not announce an unverified result date.
