Do not assume that a school-language certificate exempts you from RBI Assistant's language proficiency test because another bank accepts one. Read RBI's rule for your recruitment.
Checked 20 September 2026: the recruitment published in February 2026 is named Assistant, panel year 2025. Its selection route is prelims, mains and a mandatory Language Proficiency Test. Candidates need to read, write, speak and understand the relevant language; failure to demonstrate proficiency leads to disqualification. See the official RBI Assistant notice.
The panel-year label matters when looking for results and instructions. A headline calling it “RBI Assistant 2026” may refer to the same process, but the official heading is the safer identifier.
Check your recruiting office
Open the language list attached to the notification and match it to the recruiting office in your application. Do not infer the requirement from the nearest city or from a language you used in another examination.
Keep that office and language written beside your study schedule. If you have an individual call letter or further instruction, read it carefully for the arrangements that apply to you. This article gives a preparation approach, not a replacement for those instructions.

Test each language skill honestly
Begin with reading. Choose a short notice in the language and explain what it asks the reader to do. If you can pronounce the words but cannot explain their meaning, slow down and build comprehension.
For writing, draft a short message about an ordinary service problem. Ask a fluent reader to underline unclear wording. Rewrite the message yourself. Copying a corrected version once is less useful than producing a fresh version with the same meaning.
For speaking and listening, ask somebody to describe a simple situation and then answer a follow-up question. Record a short practice response if that helps you notice long pauses or repeated words.
These exercises are suggestions for building proficiency. They are not leaked questions or a claim that every official LPT uses the same task sequence.
Build a routine around the weak skill
A candidate who speaks confidently but writes slowly should spend more time writing. Someone comfortable with the script but unfamiliar with everyday vocabulary needs a different plan. Avoid dividing time equally just because a neat timetable looks reassuring.
Use a small notebook for useful phrases and words you repeatedly miss. Put them into sentences about real everyday situations. Review older entries before adding more.
Keep mains practice going while improving language ability. Let a short daily routine handle the language work, then expand it if your self-check shows a substantial gap. One long session immediately before the test is a poor substitute for repeated use.
Keep the next-stage records ready
Retain your application, call letters and documents in one folder. Check the official instructions for what must be presented and how names should match. When you have a specific unresolved question, use the help route in the recruitment notice rather than relying on a forwarded message.
