Match the format to the task. A short untimed quiz is useful for learning a topic. A timed full mock also tests pacing and sustained attention. Look for clear question counts, scoring rules and whether questions are original practice or official previous papers.
Inspect the explanation. Try an answer before opening the solution. A useful explanation shows the reasoning and helps you understand why alternatives fail. For factual questions, look for a reliable source you can check.
Review mistakes. A score alone gives little direction. Record whether each error came from a knowledge gap, misunderstood wording or calculation. Retry the concept later with a different question.
